Although your household contents policy covers damage and loss caused by robbery and burglary, a Luggage Insurance policy also covers simple theft. If your handbag or suitcase, for example, is stolen from your hotel room while you are on holiday, the luggage policy will cover you. Household insurance does not deem this to be an insured event. In addition, the luggage policy also covers theft of luggage from your car subject to certain conditions.
Tip:
Make a list of all the items you take on your trip, and make a realistic calculation of current value of all your luggage to determine the amount of cover you require. So, you'll be well prepared if you suffer a loss event.
We offer an attractive group rate for 8 people or more. It does not matter whether the group is an association or made up of individuals. Everyone simply has to be listed on the same policy.

Questions about Travel Insurance
Travel Cancellation Insurance should be arranged when the trip is booked (date of booking confirmation), though it can be arranged later up to 30 days before the commencement of travel. Where trips are booked within 29 days of commencing the travel, the insurance cover must be arranged immediately and within the next three days at the latest.
You can arrange international health insurance and all other travel cover, but not any Travel Cancellation Insurance, up until the day you travel.
We offer the following payment options if you arrange your insurance online:
• Direct debit
• Credit card
A policy for a single trip is valid basically until the end of that trip.
A policy with a period of one year is valid for all trips taken within the 12 months covered. Your insurance policy will be renewed for one year at a time, unless it is cancelled at least one month prior to the end of the insurance year. You can cancel your annual travel insurance on our claims portal or using the Chat tool and choosing "Contract amendments".
That depends on what you want to secure. Credit Cards often only contain "partial coverage", so that medical return transport can be included, but not international health insurance or vice versa.
Travel protection often only applies if the trip was paid by credit card. You should also check whether the insurance only applies to the cardholder or whether fellow travelers are also insured.

Questions about Travel Health Insurance
Our international health insurance packages include "renewed liability". This means the costs incurred beyond the end date of the trip are covered up until the day you are fit to be transported.
Under our health insurance packages, there is no limit to the sum insured and you do not pay any deductible.
All international health insurance packages from Allianz Travel will pay the costs of medically advisable return transport.
Return transport is medically advisable not only if treatment at the holiday destination is not possible, but also if further treatment in your home country is deemed by doctors as conducive to your recovery. This decision will be taken by the doctors at our internal assistance hotline in consultation with the local doctors.
In contrast, often only "medically necessary return transport" is covered. However, return transport to a home country is medically necessary only if the condition could not be treated locally or a lack of medical assistance would occur. However, this is only the case in very few parts of the world.
In the event of your death, or if you are hospitalized for more than 24 hours, and your travel companion is a minor or dependent on your full-time care, the following applies. We will arrange and pay for your travel companion's transportation to your primary residence or location of your choice in the country your place of residence.
